Introduction

The ride dedicated to cycling enthusiasts has been created to bring back the great cycling touring events of the past, without the constraints of competitive racing. 

 

The splendid itinerary starts on the coast and crosses the beautiful Cervia Salt Pan Park before winding its way through the inland hills, encountering stunning landscapes, unbeaten tracks and suggestive historic villages at the true heart of the Romagna Region. 

 

The cycle tour is open to any type of bike, including racing, gravel, mountain, vintage and e-bikes, and Fantini Club’s beach establishmentwill act as the ride’s start, finish and event headquarters.

Regulation


It is possible to take part in the event with any type of bike.
This includes, in particular, vintage racing bikes, modern racing bikes, mountain bikes, gravel bikes and e-bikes.
 

RACE PACK PICK-UP

Race packs and numbers will be given out at the Fantini Club, located at Lungomare G. Deledda 182, Cervia 48015 (RA).

REQUIREMENTS FOR PICKING UP THE RACE PACK: cyclists must print the registration form containing the information they completed at registration and submit it to the race admin area.


Race pack pick-up times:

 

Saturday, October 16, 2021: 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 


Sunday, October 17, 2021: from 7.00 to 8.00 a.m.


START
Sunday from 8-9 at the Fantini Club.
Staggered start in Group of a maximum of 20-25 cyclist.
 
ADMISSIBILITY
The event is open to everyone from the age of 16 onwards.
Participation is allowed for members of ACSI Ciclismo and of all bodies and federations belonging to the National Cycling Council with a valid membership card for the current year.
Participants must be in possession of an amateur cycling or tourism cycling card. Those with tourism cards can
only take part in the short route.

 

Cyclists without cards may participate by obtaining a day card at the cost of 10 Euros, providing insurance 

 

coverage limited to the duration of the event. 

 

To obtain a day card, the athlete must present a medical certificate of fitness for the specific activity of amateur competitive cycling. 

 

Day cards can be obtained on Saturday 5th September from 4 pm to 7 pm, and on Sunday 6th September from 7 am to 8.30 am.

 

Foreign cardholders may participate if they have a valid card issued by their own national cycling federation. 

 

Foreign cyclists without a card may only participate by obtaining a day card on the presentation of a medical 

certificate of fitness for the specific activity of amateur competitive cycling.

The competitive medical certificate is required only for those who decide to cover a distance greater than 70km.

 
NB: On signing the registration form, each participant assumes full responsibility for his/her conduct during and after the event, declaring to be in good physical condition, in possession of a valid card for the year of the race and to have read and fully accepted this regulation.

The registration form has a legal value of self-certification regarding all that declared within. 

 

The Organizing Committee reserves the refuse any registration. In such cases, the applicant will be notified 

before the event. 

The Organizing Committee also reserves the right to take any legal recourse available to seek compensation for

 

 damages caused, including damage to the image of the event due to any conduct contrary to sporting ethics.

 
DAY CARD
Cyclists without cards may participate by obtaining a day card at the cost of €10, providing insurance coverage limited to the duration of the event. To obtain a day card for both amateur cycling or tourism cycling, the athlete must present a medical certificate of fitness for the specific activity of amateur competitive cycling. Foreign cyclists without a card must refer to the admissibility section of this regulation.

RACE NUMBER

 

It is mandatory for all participants to display their race number on their backs in a VISIBLE and UNALTERED 

 

way while cycling. Race numbers must not be rolled up.

 

 
RACE CHECKS & TIMING

3 checkpoints will be set up along the route to certify the passage of participants.

 

The passage of participants is validated by stamping the Tour Card provided by the organization to every participant.

 

The last stamp, upon arriving at the finish at the Fantini Club, can be applied before 4 pm that day.

 
REFRESHMENT POINTS & THE PASTA PARTY
There will be three refreshment points on the long route, two on the medium length route and one on the short route. On arrival, a Pasta Party is programmed for all participants at the Fantini Club. 
Access to the party is from 12 pm to 4 pm.
Important: the Pasta Party can be accessed by hand over the voucher included in the cyclist’s race pack.
Pasta Party vouchers can also be bought for non-cycling companions from the cashier of the Fantini Club bar at a cost of 10 Euros each. .
 
PRIZES
Since it is not a competitive event, the preparation of a ranking is not envisaged.
Prize draw.
The Prize Draw prizes include: a week of beach umbrellas and sun beds for the 2021 season at the Fantini Club, entrance passes for the Fantini Wave Spa, food and drink vouchers for the beach club’s refreshment points, and technical material provided by our partners.
 

REPLACEMENT OR WITHDRAWAL

 

The replacement or cancellation of an athlete will be accepted only by August 26, 2022, paying a contribution of € 5.00 for secretarial expenses. 


In case of substitution of an athlete, the fee must be paid by the established date together with the data of the new athlete.


In case of cancellation, the fee must be paid by the established date together with the request to keep the registration valid for the 2022 edition.


In no case will the fee be refunded. 

 

 

ROAD TRAFFIC RULES

Safety information for participating cyclists and their companions: Participants must comply with all road traffic rules, as well as those commonly referred to as “ordinary prudence”, from the start right through to the finish and for the entire duration of the cycling event. 

It should be noted that the event takes place on roads open to traffic and in any climatic conditions.

 The organization declines all liability for accidents that may occur before, during or after the event to participants or their companions. SUPPORT CARAVANS & SCOOTERS FOLLOWING CYCLISTS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED, under the penalty of unappealable disqualification of benefiting riders and teams. 

For all that not directly provided for by this regulation, ACSI CICLISMO rules governing the sporting activity of cycling shall apply. 

The organizer is expressly exempted from all liability for circumstances or damages resulting from occurrences attributable exclusively to participants, as well as for damages to property or persons caused by participants on their own initiative. 

The organizer is expressly exempted from all liability in relation to unforeseeable circumstances, force majeure or circumstances that the organizer could not, according to professional diligence, reasonably foresee or resolve. Payment of the event registration fee automatically implies acceptance of this regulation. 

Participants are mandatorily required to wear an integral, approved cycle safety helmet.

 
NB: It should be noted that the event named “The White Salt Roads Cycle Tour” (or “Strade Bianche del Sale” in Italian) is not a competitive event but merely a cycle touring event.

CHANGES
The organization reserves the right to make changes to the regulation and routes at any time. 
Notes: Should the event be cancelled for reasons of force majeure not directly attributable to the organization, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to retain the paid event registration fees.

The Organizing Committee also reserves the right to claim damages from all those who, due to improper 

conduct, cause any damage to the image of the event.
